Welcome to Writer in Residence. Feel free to pour yourself a coffee, pull up a chair, and take a look around : )
I’ve loved to write since I was very young, from the magazines I used to create in my childhood bedroom, to sitting in coffee shops writing sketches of the people around me. But it wasn’t until around a decade ago that I found the confidence to start sending my work out to editors and journals. That first published piece brought me so much satisfaction: I was hooked.
Within these pages you’ll find short, conversational essays around navigating the writing life from a simple, minimalist perspective, touching on lifestyle, books, and the highs and lows of trying to write.
Under ‘Portfolio’ you’ll also find links to a selection of my published writing, including personal essays, literary criticism and flash fiction.
I hope you stick around for a browse or visit again soon, and that this little corner of calm can help you on your own writing journey or path to a simpler, less cluttered life.
